Microdermabrasion Treatment

Most everyone has heard of microdermabrasion somewhere down the line. Exfoliation is a common skin care treatment, and microdermabrasion provides the benefits of cleansing exfoliation with the added benefit of a light vacuum tool that can further clean out your pores.

What Does Microdermabrasion Treat?

  • Mild to moderate sun damage
  • Age spots
  • Dullness/lack of vibrancy
  • Scarring
  • Wrinkles
  • Fine lines
  • Clogged and enlarged pores

What Areas can be Treated?

Microdermabrasion only removes the topmost layer of skin, so very little skin is actually removed. The following areas can be treated:

  • Face
  • Delicate eye area
  • Neck
  • Chest
  • Arms
  • Hands

How Does Microdermabrasion Work?

The tool that we use at Aesthetic & Dermatology Center emits a gentle stream of crystals that exfoliate the outermost layer of your skin. This specialized device also has a suction to remove dead skin cells and clogged pores.

Typically, microdermabrasion is used in conjunction with other skin care procedures including chemical peels and dermaplaning.

What Should I Expect After Treatment?

The results of microdermabrasion are comparable to those of a light chemical peel. Some patients may experience a mild stinging and sunburn effect immediately following treatment. Generally, you can expect to see immediate results.

Your esthetician at Aesthetic & Dermatology Center will likely recommend multiple treatments for the best long-lasting correction and results.

During a consultation, you and your esthetician will discuss your health history and aesthetic goals. After a thorough skin examination, your esthetician will determine whether microdermabrasion is an appropriate treatment for you. If it is decided that microdermabrasion is right for you, your esthetician will develop a customized treatment plan that is centered around your individual needs and concerns to ensure that your aesthetic goals are met. Your treatment plan will likely include maintenance visits to ensure the lasting results of microdermabrasion.

When your skin care routine falls short or doesn’t deliver the results you’re hoping for, our expert dermatology team at Aesthetic & Dermatology Center will provide you with a thorough skin examination and create a personalized treatment plan to help you reach your skin care goals.
