Xeomin® is an FDA-approved injectable treatment for reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Like BOTOX® Cosmetic, Xeomin is derived from the botulinum toxin. As a highly purified neurotoxin, Xeomin® blocks the nerves that trigger the muscles that cause wrinkles and fine lines. By blocking these nerves, the muscle contractions stop and the wrinkles and lines soften.
What Makes Xeomin® Diffrent from BOTOX® Cosmetic?
Xeomin® is considered “naked,” meaning that there are no added ingredients or preservatives. This can reduce the risk of allergic reactions to the treatment. Furthermore, it is the only treatment derived from the botulinum toxin that does not need to be refrigerated before treatment.
What Can I Expect During Treatment?
Treatment generally lasts around 30 minutes. Your dermatologist may numb the area around the injection site.
What Can I Expect After Treatment?
You may be able to see the results of your treatment after 3-4 days. The reduction in wrinkles and fine lines oftentimes lasts for around 6 months.
