Battling breakouts and stubborn acne can take a toll on your self-confidence. Depending on the type of acne you have, you may even experience spots or scarring after your breakouts have faded away. At the Aesthetic & Dermatology Center, we know that acne scarring can feel just as bad as acne itself. With over-the-counter products, the healing process may feel long and drawn out. Fortunately, Dr. Walia offers several solutions to eliminate acne scarring.

Acne Scarring Treatment and Solutions

It is important to remember that our board-certified dermatologists are the only people who should ever squeeze, touch, or “pop” your pimples.

While drugstore creams may promise even, smooth skin, the quickest and most effective way to treat acne scarring is a clinical scarring solution. Our acne scarring treatments may include microneedling, chemical peels, or laser treatments.

Genius Microneedling + RF

The Genius is a microneedling and radiofrequency device that stimulates collagen and elastin without damaging the surrounding tissue. Collagen and elastin production strengthens the skin and reduces the signs of acne scars. The Genius can improve atrophic or “caved in” acne scars.

Vbeam®️ Perfecta Pulsed Dye Laser

The Vbeam®️ laser works by sending quick bursts of gentle light wavelengths into the skin. The light is then converted into heat energy and absorbed by the blood vessels. The Vbeam®️ works best on erythematous (red) acne scars but can also treat other scars that are red and raised called (hypertrophic) scars and keloids. The Vbeam®️ laser is also one of the most effective lasers for treating active acne in addition to the scars left behind.

Fillers

At the Aesthetic and Dermatology Center, fillers are also an option for acne scars. When acne scars leave depressions on the surface of your skin, our various types of fillers add volume to these areas, making them significantly less noticeable.

Chemical Peels

Our new chemical peel, the Perfect Derma Peel targets stubborn acne, acne scarring, fine lines, and hyperpigmentation. Chelsea, our expert esthetician, will work with you to customize this peel to target the specific improvements you want to make to your acne scarring.

To find the best solution for your skin, schedule a consultation with our board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained laser surgeon, Dr. Sunny Walia. It’s important to note there is no “one size fits all” solution. During your consultation, Dr. Sunny Walia will evaluate your skin and scar/s and customize a treatment plan including a topical skincare regime that is best for you.
